Season Five Countdown

Well here we are just 15 days out from our first live stream of the season. We are busy finalising the website systems for this season and preparing the Speedbox Van(Its having its annual trip to the Panel beater to hold back the rust, typical transit.

Lots of events this year including some new ones which should be very exciting. Its a very important year for us this year, we need to back up last years success.

Mid year

Well how the year fly's by. Its nice to take a break from Speedbox for a while. Its almost time to get back on the horse and move forward with the next season. Wow season 5, After year one I wasn't sure there would be a year two let alone five!

We have a great list of live streams to target this year. NZ Stockcar Champs, World 240s, NZ Superstock Champs, Superstock Teams Champs and a new one - NZ Stockcar Teams Champs. These are all just targets at this stage and formal negotiations will begin soon.

Nearly on top of it all

It was a grueling streaming season this year with all our live streams happening in a six week period. By the end of that the whole crew was going a bit crazy, especially those of us who still have not been paid for any of our speedbox efforts. It wasn't without its dramas but I can say it has been our most successful year yet.

Home Straight

It's the night before the Teams Champs and I'm just taking a moment to reflect on the season so far. I have to say it has gone well. The NZ Superstock champs after a couple of rain outs was a great event for us with numbers growing from last year. A slight hiccup with the satellite dampened the finals night for us but most people were happy.

Speedbox re-takes the South Island

Its been three long years since we last drove the speedbox van down south. The good people at Eastern States Speedway in Blenheim are hosting the NZ Stockcar Champs and they have decided to put it live on the internet so those fans out there that can't make the trip will still be able to watch it.

We spent the day at the track today establishing our satellite internet uplink. It's a great looking track and the people down here are so friendly and helpfull. I really can't talk them up enough.

The satelite dish on a roof - weighed down with rocks and truck rims so it doesnt blow away in the marlbrough wind!

Out of the frying pan into the fire

Survived Cemetery Circuit for another year! Two 14 hour days and its done. It went well this year and as usual the racing was sublime.

Arrived home to find out the NZ Superstocks Qualifying was postponed. This throws all our plans up in the air. We were set to live stream finals night only so not to bad just a day later.

That was until we checked our emails and magors and discovered that a lot of speedway fans have been asking about the possibility of live streaming qualifying night now that we had an extra day to play with.

Getting Started

As a part of our new look website we are going to have a few bloggers to keep you informed and entertained. So to get the ball rolling I will be doing one on how the speedbox team is going and all the new developments that we roll out.
