How can i watch a live stream on my TV?

There are several ways of watching a live stream on your TV and it depends on what sort of computer
and TV you have.

Further explanations below, but for those who like to watch instead of reading, here is a great video which explains all options quite well:

Old School way

There is a small device that can be purchased from Dick Smith(or similar) which plugs into your Monitor Out plug on your computer and converts the Monitor signal into a normal video signal.

Then you just plug it into your tv like any other video source.

In your computer control panel you may need to activate the monitor out plug as a second or duplicate monitor. This piece of
equipment will cost less than $100.

The draw backs of this is that the quality is a little low(but still ok) and the device may need you to restart
your computer several times to work. Some people just plug it in and it works! For me it took a little bit of mucking around.

Best way

Assuming you have a modern Flat screen TV it may have monitor in plug at the back. In that case you simply plug the monitor cable from your computer into your TV and then on your TV select the input to the correct option.

If you have a lap top most of them do have a monitor out plug on them for this reason. It may just need to be set up in the control menu in your computer as a second or duplicate monitor. You may need to restart your computer to get it going.

Bluetooth

You can also purchase a bluetooth device which he plugs into your laptop and another which he plugs into your TV. This will send the picture and sound wirelessly to your Tele.

The advantage of this is that it includes the sound. Maybe a little technical to set it up tho.

Sound

The sound is really important, you need to hear good sound to have a
truly enjoyable viewing experience.

For the first two options the sound will still come from the computer. To get the sound into your stereo or surround sound system you can use a cable that is used on ipods to get them into your stereo. One end plugs into your headphone jack on your computer and the other end has two normal sound plugs like a video has, simply plug them into your stereo or surround sound system.

ways of doing it
How to watch your computer on your TV

Also if you google 'how to plug your pc into a television' there are many
instructions there.

It is worth doing it as it will really improve the days viewing. We
would suggest doing it well in advance to avoid any last minute stress. You
can test it using any video on demand content from the net.
