Out of the frying pan into the fire
Survived Cemetery Circuit for another year! Two 14 hour days and its done. It went well this year and as usual the racing was sublime.
Arrived home to find out the NZ Superstocks Qualifying was postponed. This throws all our plans up in the air. We were set to live stream finals night only so not to bad just a day later.
That was until we checked our emails and magors and discovered that a lot of speedway fans have been asking about the possibility of live streaming qualifying night now that we had an extra day to play with.
My wife is always keen to please our supporters so we have hatched a plan to do a one camera coverage of the qualifying. The plan is that I will be the camera man(that's my real trade outside of Speedbox), she will man the speedbox production suite herself. I will do some pre-meeting interviews, film all racing and then do some post meeting interviews. We usually have a crew of nine -so will two or three be able to deliver? Time may tell.
We would need 150 subscribers paying $20 each to cover base costs and of course we would need the promoter to agree to this. So we currently have a post on facebook asking the question. If we get 150 people saying they will pay that by 10am of the morning of qualifying then its going to be a big couple of days!
I am quite interested as to how this will go, the power of the internet is really on show here. I know we can do a good job even with just one camera. It funny really, last year the rain out saved us from a crap internet connection and this year the rain out may lead to qualifying being available for those who want it.

we are very pleased with the service you supply, without speedbox we would not see a lot of the racing around nz, which tvnz do not cover, so thanks heaps speedbox. and to all of you that are bitching, wake up, it was delayed 20 min, you did not miss it at all. you ungreatful bastards.

hey thanks speedbox for the 2 nights its good to the racing bar the little hicups but you guys do a top job ,just a shame the sad arses that dont understand internet will ever get it that things can go wrong as they do but i will still be veiwing and watch your live streams guys thanks and go hard keep it up cheers

Was gutted that that the feed was lost on the final race, however will still support speedbox, you guys have done great things for speedway sport...much more than any other media available. Being able to watch from home, and at an excellent price when we cant be at the live event is brilliant. You will get full support from us and we will be using speedbox again. Thanks and well done guys.

one thing i will say is you veiwers need to look at your selfs you are sad ppl, one we got two nights coverage from these guys when we should of had one and how do you control a satilite failure maybe one off you unhappy pepole might be able to show these guys that bust their arses for you lot to give you what you want to see cause like all of us that cant make it we get to watch you lot unhappy lot are unreal im dissapionted with the last race but thats life get OVER IT . NZ Superstock Qualifying
We have decided to give the one camera live stream a try, i have just finished activating the subscription, so you can now purchase as usual, just make sure you are logged in - you can't complete the subscription if you are not logged in.
At the moment the weather is looking great for tomorrow, so the qualifying is scheduled for tomorrow night (wed 29th Dec) the live stream will begin at 6:30pm.
Finals are now scheduled for Thursday 30th Dec, we will still be covering that as per normal with the full speedbox multi-camera setup.
